UNGA Healing Arts Week 2025 returns to New York City with a bold, expanded program of events that brings together artists, healthcare leaders, policymakers, and communities from around the world. Through performances, panels, research presentations, and community activations, the week will explore how the arts are driving innovation in health and well-being. 

Taking place alongside the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the 2025 edition will spotlight the role of culture and creativity in advancing global health priorities—particularly in the context of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health. 

This year, for the first time, events will take place across all five boroughs of New York City, reflecting the growing momentum of the Arts in Health movement and its relevance to diverse communities and care settings.

The Lancet Global Series on Arts & Health

A landmark presentation of new global research highlighting the transformative power of the arts in health and care.

NYU Arts & Health Symposium

A full-day gathering of researchers, practitioners, and creatives exploring intersections of arts, health, and education. 

Arts and Policy Panel: Arts as a Health Behaviour

A high-level dialogue on the role of the arts in shaping health behaviours and informing public health strategy.

UNGA Healing Arts Week Reception

A special evening gathering of global partners, artists, and health leaders in celebration of the Healing Arts movement.

Laye Rhythm: Performance & Community Jam

An immersive night of dance, music, and freestyle exchange celebrating community and cultural expression

Living Museum Activation

A participatory event showcasing community creativity, mental health advocacy, and the power of lived experience.
