Doctor Olivier Beauchet is a clinician-researcher, geriatrician and neurologist. He is a full professor at the Université de Montréal (Faculty of Medicine - Department of Medicine), a physician at the Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal (IUGM) and director of the AgeTeQ laboratory at the IUGM Research Center. He also holds a research chair in creative economics from the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Société et culture. For several years, Dr. Olivier Beauchet has been studying the relationship between the arts, culture and health (mental, physical and social), with a view to implementing concrete actions aimed at individuals, population groups and institutions. Over the past few years, Dr. Beauchet has been able to set up an ecosystem bringing together the health sciences, the arts and new information and communication technologies, with a focus on the effects of the visual arts on health. This ecosystem has been particularly active in Quebec over the past decade. Its reach is no longer confined to Quebec, as it is at the origin of an international consortium of 10 Museums-Researchers duos in America, Europe and Asia, of which Dr. Beauchet is the leader and spokesperson.
